Gunshi Willians decided to see how many throws he could do non stop until he was too tired to continue, so he contacted the Guiness book Of Records and set up a record attempt, he decided to use 50 assistants to take the throws, to use both standing and sacrifice throws, and to take a 5 minute break every hour, but told the assistance not to jump for him, because erach throw was to be correct in form.

The location was the Moncton Mall, in hs hometown, it started badly when a local judo  structor told him the judo association did not give him permission to do judo without their permission, but he decided to do it anyways, and then the throwing began, at first the throws were easy, but hour after hour and the physical tasks became more taxing, he reached the 12th hour, was about to stop, but decided to do it for one more hour, and after the end of the 13th hour, it was over, over 1500 clean throws, all 50 assistants were exhausted, and the record was set.....this was the late 1970's.....the record still stands today

Gunshi began judo in the 1950's, he competed in over 80 competitions, including the Canada games and the USA olympic trials, he was only thrown for full ippon 3 times, most of his bouts ended on the newasa or groud fighting area..
