Po Lin was a very interesting man, he organized martial art contests all over Asia, they were called death matches, yet nobody ever died, he competed in many himself, but nobody ever said if he won or lost, but he must have been a good kung fu fighter to be accepted by the dai nippon butokukai, and leter to inherit traditional daito ryu.
